Biblical Base of Freedom Quest Ministry
Here is what we believe and act upon. Every volunteer in Freedom Quest Ministry is a Christian who can explain his or her conviction and experience on the following.
- God loves everyone. (John 3:16)
- God desires to heal brokenness. (Psalm 147:3,
John 5:2-8)
- God wants all people to receive His salvation which is certainly spiritual life with Jesus forever but also release from bondage here and now. (Isaiah 61:1, Ephesians 2:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17)
- God is our loving and gracious heavenly Father who listens and gives freely when we ask. He is faithful. We may ask. We are instructed to ask. (Jeremiah 29:11-12: 33:3, Luke 11:9, Romans 8:32,
John 14:13-14)
- Some of our actions and choices hinder us from fully experiencing what God wants for us. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
- Some actions, choices, and events of our families and ancestors can influence and hinder us from fully experiencing God’s love and His goodness for our lives. (Exodus 20:4-6, Joshua 4:24-25)
- Satan is our enemy, messing with our Creator’s intentions for our sexual, emotional, spiritual, or physical welfare to disrupt our experience of God’s love and goodness. (Genesis 3,1 Peter 5:8)
- God is greater than our enemy and can rebuild and nurture our sexual, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being so we are free from bondage to follow, honor, and worship Him. (Colossians 1:13-14; 2:13-15)
- God is approachable and invites us to ask in reverence, sincerity, and faith. We believe that if we ask in this way, our questions and requests will be legitimate and reasonable. (Hebrews 4:14-16; 7:25)
- Prayer is faith in action. Our sincere willingness and desire to pray reflects sufficient faith for God to work. (James 2:20-22, Matthew 17:20)
- When God’s response identifies our human weaknesses or failure, confession and repentance are always our reasonable next steps. (1 John 1:8-10)
- How God changes us, and what He reforms us to become, is His business. We know it will be good. Our place is to invite His intervention in our lives and follow Him through the change He brings, no matter how long or what direction the process might take. (Lamentations 3:25-26, John 8:32)
- We should not try to undo or redirect what God wants to do. We find peace only when we live in the freedom He gives. (Galatians 5:1)
- We do not know what God will do in response to our requests but we know His actions will be good. (Ephesians 2:10; 3:20)
